October 19th is the BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY! This is the day for the "think pink"! Wearing pink means supporting breast cancer awareness.
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One in eight women still face a diagnosis of breast cancer. Most advanced breast cancer cases are found in women over age 50. It’s hard to smile when faced with such a disease! Although new, improved treatments are helping many women with breast cancer live longer than ever before, there is still a high risk for breast cancer death; prevention in women aged 35 is nowadays, highly recommended. It is said that lifestyle changes can prevent breast cancer. The best advice is to eat a well-balanced diet and avoid focusing on one "cancer-fighting" food. Choose foods and portion sizes that promote a healthy weight. Choose whole grains instead of refined grain products. Eat 5 or more servings of fruits and vegetables each day. Limit processed and red meat in the diet
Limit alcohol consumption to one drink per day (women who are at high risk for breast cancer should consider not drinking alcohol at all).
